I am now in the process of re-working the postcard to incorporate Doug's principles. I actually knew some of these principles from my own experience, but for some reason, I was about to go to sleep at the switch on this deal.

Another very important change I will make is that my campaign will now have a point!--generating leads. What a concept, a mailing campaign aimed at making money, not improving my "image".

(Doug--you won't believe this, but after we hung up, a guy called me touting a $26,000 website deal. He said the site had won several awards for the agency that designed it. I immediately thought of what you say about ad agencies and who they design ads for. Now, I wouldn't pay 26 grand for a website even if I had it, but once again, you were right on the money about marketing versus advertising)
